Hey there, I'm Jo!

As a maternity nurse, postnatal personal trainer, and a mother of three, I intimately understand the postpartum journey. My own experiences after childbirth sparked a deep interest in supporting my body’s healing process. Despite not having a C-section myself, my professional role has given me a profound insight into the recovery needs of mothers who have. The surprising scarcity of information on pelvic floor health led me to ask, “Why isn’t this essential knowledge more accessible?”

In my work with women who are recovering from C-sections, I’ve seen that many share a common struggle to find their new ‘normal.’ This has inspired me to share the insights I’ve gained through my dual roles as a nurse and a fitness expert. Implementing targeted exercises can significantly prevent long-term complications associated with cesarean recovery. Although it may be difficult to carve out time for exercise with a little one (or three!) in tow, it’s incredibly important. What’s included in the program? The program includes an exercise plan customised for women recovering from their C-section to support core & pelvic function. It also includes education and support to improve the function of your scar through desensitisation and self massage along with exercises which help you safely return to impact exercise. You also get access to my online community where you can get all your questions answered and interact with other mums just like you.

How do I access the exercises? Once you purchase the program, you’ll get a login which you can use to access the online platform on the Fit by Wix app or on a desktop via our website.

Can I do this program while I’m still pregnant? This program is designed for women who’ve already given birth via C-section or are planning an elective C-section. Therefore, you can purchase it early and customise your start date when it is on sale to start after your birth. I’m currently developing a program for pregnant women called Energised Pregnancy, which will support safe and healthy exercise & nutrition during pregnancy.

I’ve just had a baby. When can I start the program? Right away! The C-section Recovery Program features education, support and exercises that is relevant and safe from within the first week postpartum.

What equipment do I need? Initially you don't need any equipment for the first few weeks. After that, you’ll just need a some light weights and incline options, a soft ball/cushion, but you can use common household items such as chairs, kitchen bench, filled up drink bottles and tinned foods.
